Mark Myrie was found guilty of conspiring to set up a drugs deal in 2009 this past Tuesday.
The artist was conficted of- conspiracy to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it, another drug trafficking offence and a gun charge. He was acquitted of a fourth charge for attempted cocaine possession.
He now faces a 15 year jail term and was denied bail whilst he awaits sentencing.
The DJ was caught on video and audio recordings taken by an informant and DEA officer. The informer was paid $50,000 after
Banton was arrested with two others in December 2009.
Buju's lawyers plan on appealing against the conviction.
