So on top of starting a two year jail sentence in June, Ja Rule, real name Jeffery Atkins, has pleaded guilty to tax evasion agreed to pay over $1.1 million in tax debts and IRS penalties. The rapper pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to file a tax return, even though he was touring and releasing albums between 2004-2008.
Each count of tax evasion carries a 'maximum' sentence of one year, let's do the math-
Gun posession= 2 years
+
Three counts of tax evasion= 3 years
= 5 years!
Looks like Ja could be gone for a while...
