It has emerged that RIM are developing a new music subscription service that will allow subscribers to play music on their phones.
The service is designed to work alongside the Blackberry Messenger Service, and will be known as BBM Music. It's been said that users could be able to access up to 50 songs at one time, but prices have yet to be decided.
According to sources, the company has already signed, or are preparing to sign, agreements with four music power houses, Vivendi Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner and EMI.
The move is aimed at attracting younger consumers to the product, which is facing tough competition from Apple's iPhone and others.
Looks like Blackberry are trying to regain their popularity points they lost from the iPhone...

"Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D already scored his own spin-off from the hit MTV show, but now he's in talks for a record deal with none other than 50 Cent. According to TMZ, Pauly D met with the rapper last week in New York to discuss being signed to his G-Unit label. 50 Cent is reportedly eager to sign the star to his label and is reportedly working out a lucrative three-album deal.
The deal with Pauly D would not only include music but merchandise as well. Among the the possibilities being tossed around for the DJ Pauly D brand include headphones and more.
DJ Pauly D, who's currently the resident DJ at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas, could be signed before he heads to Italy to film the fourth season of "Jersey Shore." His spin-off is slated to start production later in the year and will air in 2012.
DJ Pauly D has only released one track so far as an artist. "Beat Dat Beat (It's Time To)" was released a single last year and appeared on the "Jersey Shore" soundtrack
So I'm roaming through YouTube to find a tune for Sunday Afternoon Vybin', and all of a sudden 'NLT' pops in to my head! So I search them, find them, and begin to watch the video.
Now, the group were originally signed to TUG Entertainment (Chris Stokes' label) and recorded songs with Timbaland also. The song being was played on the home of Hip Hop and RnB Choice Fm, and although the quartet began to drum up interest an album never materialised and the four went their seperate ways.
Anyway, so I'm watching the video and start to think one of the dudes looks madd familiar. After a Wikipedia search my assumptions were proved right with one of the members being the dude in Glee in the wheelchair, Kevin McHale, so he really can sing (he sings lead on the second verse...).

Raheem DeVaughn has decided to put out a kind of 'Best Of' mixtape. It features tracks from some of his albums and a few extras off of other mixtapes he's put out. It's nice listen, you'll find it on the net if you really want it!
Looks like RiRi is going to have to cancel some of her 'Loud' tour dates due to poor ticket sales.
The Bajan beauty, who is currently on the road, is struggling to fill venues on various stops of the tour. It's been reported her scheduled show in Boston on July 24th, which also features Cee-Lo Green, has only sold 3,700 tickets and needs at least 15,000 to break even.
It was suggested the singer only use theatres and smaller venues, but this didn't happen and her excessive demands are not being justified by the money being made.
I never really thought Rihanna would have any probs filling arenas, guess I was wrong.

So on top of starting a two year jail sentence in June, Ja Rule, real name Jeffery Atkins, has pleaded guilty to tax evasion agreed to pay over $1.1 million in tax debts and IRS penalties. The rapper pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to file a tax return, even though he was touring and releasing albums between 2004-2008.
Each count of tax evasion carries a 'maximum' sentence of one year, let's do the math-
Gun posession= 2 years + Three counts of tax evasion= 3 years
As it looks like Dr Dre's highly and LONG anticipated 'Detox' alnum will finally see the light of day, it is rumoured Jay-z and Beyonce will feature on the LP... On th same track.
The couple haven't recorded together since 2007 and were personally requested by Dre. Both rappers have recorded their verses and the only part left to complete is the chorus, which will done by Bey'...

Singer Bruno Mars avoided jail yesterday after receiving a years probation, £1,250 fine, 200 community service hours and 8 hours drugs counselling.
The singer was caught with 2.6 grams of cocaine in a Las Vegas bathroom last September.
The singer was said to have be very appreciative that the court had been lenient with him and vowed to stay out of trouble and 'keep his nose clean' from now on.

Sooooooooooo... apparently Ciara has been dropped from Jive Records with immediate affect. I know she had disappointing first week sales (40,000 units roughly), but you can't deny her talent and position in today's RnB world.
I'll be the first to admit that Ciara's first theree albums 'Goodies', 'Evolution' and 'Fantasy Ride' weren't really banged on my iPod, but 'Basic Instinct' is sick from beginning to end. I think that is partly due to her going back to her crunk roots.
I'm still not sold 100% on this news, but it is picking up steam now. It's a shame when any artist is dropped from their label, but this could be a blessing for Ci Ci as she won't have a problem finding a new recording home and maybe they'll be able to market and understand her better as an artist.
Ricky Rozay will be dropping a new mixtape sometime on Christmas eve titled 'Ashes To Ashes'
A track from ATA has already surfaced on the net called '9 Piece' ft. T.I. . The track is a bit reminiscant of B.M.F. (beat wise), and is a nice prelude to the mixtape.
